What is Emergency Care?

Emergency care is for pets experiencing life-threatening emergencies. Seek care at an emergency vet hospital if your pet is exhibiting any of the following:

  • Cardiac arrest
  • Choking
  • Collapse or loss of consciousness
  • Distressed mother in labor or the inability to deliver kittens or puppies
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Fractures
  • Heatstroke
  • Paralysis
  • Penetrating wounds
  • Seizures
  • Severe or persistent diarrhea or vomiting
  • Stopped breathing
  • Trauma or accident, such as falling or being hit by an object or car
